RIP John Barry – The inspiration for Sentiment
Monday 31st January 2011 by Louise Harris, 1 comment
I just heard that John Barry died, it made me cry. I don’t normally get upset by famous people dying , I deal with the real people in life and death and that’s emotional enough. I didn’t cry because of his loss I cried because of his amazing influence on me and my gratitude for his life.
I think Out Of Africa was one of the first videos I remember seeing. I was probably about 7 years old. It was not something I would have chosen to watch, I was more interested in the Care Bears but my mom was a working single parent and the only time we’d actually have time to sit with her and chill out and have a cuddle was on the sofa with a video.

My 5 Last Songs
Tuesday 12th October 2010 by Louise Harris, No comments
My Last Song contacted me to find out my own 5 funeral song choices and the reason why I have chosen them for my Farewell.
Naturally being a music lover I have a Spotify play list of about 120 songs! So I had to refer to my funeral plan to see what the top 5 were.
Here is a link to my top 5 with a link to the track and the personal reason for choice.
Enjoy

Anyone who reads Sentiment’s Blog will know how much we love music. Music is the driving force for Sentiment’s existence – That is why we love ‘My Last Song’
Music was also the driving force behind My Last Song, but it’s not all music! My Last Song have got bigger and better over the past few years and their recent updated website makes it crystal clear what they are all about.
Their ‘Lifebox’ is now a fantastic way to store your online funeral plans and all the things that are important to you from funeral track lists to special photos and your funeral wishes. You can even access advice and information based about all things ‘funeral’ .
Take a gander at their site – If you like the internet and use of online storage than you’ll love My Last Song . (And be sure to participate in their Poll on the right hand side of their website)
A song for you

Charles at The Good Funerl Guide sent me a link to a company that actually put your ashes in a vinyl record! For 2k And Vinyly will compress your ashes into 30 discs so your loved one can ‘play you’ when you’re gone ;o)
far out!
On a personal note, I took my baby girls to Reading Festival last Friday, highlight was watching Mumford and Sons. As I watched them Arabella was sleeping in her buggy and Connie my 4 year old was waving her arms in the air with a big smile on her face, I had a tear roll down my eyes as they played this song – After the Storm , Mumford and Sons . I dont know why, but It remninded me of a client I had recenly who lost his young wife. It also made me look at my girls and just gush with ‘ooh wow, life is just so bloody precious’

Back down to earth
Wednesday 7th July 2010 by Louise Harris, 2 comments
So I’m back down to earth and getting into the groove of juggling business, baby, family and everything else that we call ‘life!
Sentiment was busy while I was away, with funerals being filmed and memorial photo sideshows being edited to a superb standard. Also the Sentiment-Productions division was busy with show reels, wedding edits, birthday gifts and memory books. So I would like this opportunity to say thank you my team for holding the fort while I was away and thank you to those clients and well wishers for the cards, flowers and gifts.
So I’m back down to earth and in true tradition have a Spotify Play List to go with my ramblings!
With all thats being going on I think about how Lucky I am, some of you maybe aware that we actually thought we had lost Arabella when she was born, had it not been for something guiding us to being checked out by a midwife a few hours before I went into labour both myself and Arabella may well have died.
Awareness of death gives us a greater appreciation of living today and empathy for those who are suffering and struggling with their own grief and loss.
If you only really have trivial problems in life – smile and pivot those negative feelings and see the wonderful gift of life – for its it very very short and ever so precious.
here is my own personal ‘Celebration of Life play list‘ I listen to it a lot, it keeps me grateful.’
